Our management team work tirelessly behind the scenes so our clinical psychologists can deliver a high calibre treatment and counseling services that really makes a difference in our clients’ lives. Our team members come from a variety of backgrounds and have differing specialities, but they all share a strong commitment to our clients and a solid sense of professionalism and empathy.

What is your experience?

I have been working in the medical industry as a receptionist since 2001 and practice manager since 2003 in both Melbourne and Brisbane. I have been a practice manager across a range of disciplines from travel medical and general practice, to men’s health and physiotherapy.

What are your interest areas?

My main interest is in helping people. I love problem solving and I also enjoy learning. I enjoy learning about people and different circumstances.

What motivates you in your career?

The most amazing thing about this job is that I get to learn something new at least every week if not daily. I thrive on challenges and by meeting different people and learning about them I am introduced to new ideas and concepts that I didn’t know existed. This helps me to appreciate life more and enables me to do my job to my best abilities. I love doing my job well.

What bring you the most satisfaction in your career?

Helping people and knowing that I do my job well.

What is my experience:

I have extensive and varied experience ranging from reception in financial, medical and legal fields as well as worked in fitness, education and real estate.

 

What are my interest areas:

My interests have always centered around people; my family, friends, fitness and work.

 

What motivates me in my career:

Definitely people, and helping them make the most from their lives according to the industry I was working within. Going that extra step for people is an important value of mine.

 

What brings me the most satisfaction in my career:

Doing a great job with honesty and integrity whilst helping those around me and making people smile.

What is your experience?

  • Currently studying a Masters of Clinical Psychology at QUT​
  • Graduate of Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) 2014 at the University of Queensland
  • ​University of Queensland Research Scholar 2013 – supervised by Dr Cynthia Turner in the area of youth OCD
  • Experience with psychometrics and advanced statistics
  • A passion for mental health research
  • Over five years’ experience in customer service

What are your interest areas?

  • Facilitating the link between the most relevant and credible research translating into the best psychological treatment
  • Increasing the availability and accessibility of anxiety-related information in the community
  • Assisting the ongoing professional development of clinicians

What motivates you in your career?

I am motivated by the increasing recognition of anxiety-related disorders and the importance of mental health in general, exemplified by the abundance of emerging research in these fields. I aim to increase the accessibility of this research to our clients as an accompaniment to treatment. In doing so, I hope to enhance others’ general understanding of anxiety-related disorders.

What brings you the most satisfaction in your career?

I find satisfaction in being a critical consumer of the latest anxiety-related research as it allows me to assist our clinicians in delivering the most effective evidence-based treatment to our clients. I enjoy engaging in work that has the potential to enhance the lives of many.

Nicola Richardson

What is your experience?

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) 2015 at Bond University.
  • Experience conducting research into the impact of anxiety on individual’s cognitive processes.
  • Experience working alongside Behavioural Analysts and families to provide therapy to children on the Autism Spectrum.
  • Academic experience in research and tutoring roles.

 

What are your interest areas?

  • Facilitating research into psychological treatment options, providing practical guidance as to the efficacy of treatment.
  • Contributing to the increase in societal education about the nature of Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive and other mental disorders.
  • Supporting clinicians providing high levels of treatment and care to the community.

 

What motivates you in your career?

I am motivated by a desire to educate and to provide others with insight into a range of topics, most notably, mental health. I wish to aid in breaking down the stigma that surrounds mental health that prevents some individuals from seeking treatment and to contribute to the production of research investigating the most effective treatments for individuals with a range of mental disorders including Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive disorder.

 

What brings you the most satisfaction in your career?

I draw satisfaction from the skills that I have developed and continue to develop that allow me to communicate effectively with clinicians and support their clinical practice as well as with the community at large to educate and provide insight into areas such as mental health. I am also satisfied by my growing ability to draw together information to provide tangible evidence that aids the development of treatment options to ensure the community has access to effective treatment that will improve their wellbeing.
